Complete Streets And What They Mean To Us

The November Membership Meeting presentation will feature Michael Dannemiller, an expert in complete street design and implementation.  What is a complete street you ask?  Well, it’s more than just some asphalt and concrete with lines painted on it.  How much more you ask?  Well, an internet search might come up some information but you know what they say about what you read on the internet.  Better to come to the meeting and hear it from the horse’s mouth.  Mike is one of the National Complete Streets Coalition instructors and has been planning and designing bicycle and pedestrian accommodation in projects ranging from New England to Florida to Oregon.  He has developed and presented training sessions on complete streets, traffic calming, bicycle and pedestrian planning and design, safe routes to school and senior mobility.  Mike also serves on the committees for the East Coast Greenway in New Jersey and the 9/11 Memorial Trail.

So you can see that Mike’s the real deal with it comes to working to assure that cyclists and pedestrians get their fair share of the pavement on our roadways.

And as always, each and every meeting features free refreshments and the opportunity to socialize with friends.  November’s post meeting feast is presented by Bruce Dailey.
