Saturday, June 8th (No Rain Date)

It’s picnic season time again, please join us for this memorable club
event! The annual BTCNJ picnic will be at the Pascack Brook County
Park, on Emerson Road in Westwood, NJ, the same location as last year.
The picnic date is set for Saturday, June 8 (no rain date). We have a covered shelter this year, so we’ll eat rain or shine!

Club members ride together and meet up afterwards to hang out with new
and old friends to socialize and enjoy lots of food. It’s also a great
time and place for new members to experience a friendly introduction
to the BTCNJ group.

Rides of all levels, A through D, depart from Pascack Brook County
Park in the morning, before the picnic. We will also have a special
children’s ride around the park. Check the BTCNJ website for the ride
listings and departure times. Rides will meet at the large parking
area next to the tennis courts. The roads around Pascack Brook County
Park are lovely for riding with traffic in some areas.

The picnic begins when members return from the morning rides, starting
around 11:00 AM and continuing through the day. We generally start
cooking burgers and hot dogs around Noon and the picnic runs until
about 3:00 PM. The cost of participation? FOOD! Please bring one
potluck dish that will feed 6-8 people (or more if you like). There is
usually no shortage of appetites. Review the categories below, find
the letter your last name begins with and bring that type of food. We
will also have burgers, veggie burgers and hot dogs.

A – I: Main dishes;

J – N: Salads, veggies, pasta;

O – T: Snacks, chips, dips;

U –W: Fruit;

X – Z: Desserts;

Vegetarian dishes are welcome.

There will be games for children and games for all ages in the
afternoon. Prizes will be awarded for players who rack up the most
points.

The best way to keep food fresh for the picnic while you are riding in
the morning is to bring a cooler or other container with ice and leave
it in your car. Please don’t drop off food at the picnic site before
you leave for your ride because we don’t have enough coolers to keep
it fresh. The club provides hot charcoal-broiled hamburgers,
cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and non-alcoholic cold drinks; members bring
their favorite recipe—cold salads, side dishes, and lots of desserts
to share with everyone.

We need volunteers to help with setup, cleanup, marshaling the food
tables, helping out in the grill area, and helping to run the games.
All help will be appreciated. To volunteer, email Claudia Dukeshire
